Symptoms of a Faulty Shift Solenoid:

Delayed gear shifting
Transmission will not downshift
Transmission gets stuck in neutral
Shifting gears becomes rough and choppy
Erratic Shifting – Transmission shifts into the wrong gear, skips a gear or shifts back and forth unpredictably
