Shelby Drop Template (Arning Drop) — 1967–1970 Ford Mustang
✅ What It Is
Precision-made drilling template for installing the classic Arning/Shelby Drop modification on 1967–1970 Mustangs. Designed to accurately relocate the upper control arm mounting holes on the factory shock towers.
Manufactured by Mustang Maniac — Made in the UK from stainless steel ✅
🔧 What It Does
• Relocates the upper control arm mounting position 1 inch STRAIGHT DOWN from the original factory location
• No rearward offset — designed specifically for the 1967–1970 shock tower pattern
• Corrects front suspension geometry — improves caster angle, raises roll centre, and optimises camber curve during cornering
• Significantly reduces body roll, improves steering feel, and sharpens handling — all while retaining your original stock coil springs
🚗 Important Details
• For: 1967, 1968, 1969 & 1970 Ford Mustang only
• Hole spacing: 4.75 inches centre-to-centre — correct for the 67–70 shock tower pattern
• Actual ride height change: Moving the mounting point down 1" results in approximately ⅝" lower ride height — the main benefit is improved handling geometry, not just lowering
• Not interchangeable with 1964½–1966 template — the early car template has narrower hole spacing and includes a ⅛" rearward shift that is NOT used on 67–70 models
⚙️ Installation Note
Remove upper control arm and coil spring, bolt template over existing holes, drill new guide holes to 17/32" diameter, reinstall components. Professional wheel alignment is essential after installation.
