All Motorcraft Hose designs undergo rigorous lab and real world tests in order to meet Ford engineering standards. Hoses must pass tests for static and dynamic pressure, burst pressure and temperature extremes.

- Immersion tests help ensure chemical breakdown resistance to coolant exposure. Burst pressure tested up to ten times the maximum peak operating pressure.
- Most coolant hoses molded to fit the application for easy installation.
- Premium quality EPDM rubber used in most hoses; designed to help resist heat, oil, grease, antifreeze and all approved coolant additives.
- EPDM construction often includes reinforcements, depending on application and use, including Kevlar, Nomex, Technora, and Rayon.
